Asked me if what I sent him was a joke and said it was one of the worst produced severance letters he's ever reviewed and asked if the company had "less than 100 staff" (OUCH). "Micky mouse" calculations, no breakdown of the termination pay included on the letter (HR 101. They were just lazy), grammatical and sentence structure errors throughout. Needless to say, hopefully Pembina will be busy with people contesting these insulting exit packages. I've also heard HR is not willing to work with folks who reached out on their own, so speak to a lawyer and "legal up". The post below about additional layoffs doesn't surprise me. Make sure you watch your back if you still work there.

I feel for all those let go. The town hall that followed was a joke. No list of names release so I'm still left wondering who's left. Everyone left wondering when their number will be up.
I work for Pembina and wanted to chime in. Pembina is a perfect example of the "emperor having no clothes". Given the age of the company, it's a pathetic workplace to call home. Employees are rarely ever given the proper tools or resources to be efficient. Systems, processes, organizational change, people... It's all so shockingly mismanaged. I would tell industry colleagues about our systems, processes, and then speak to the vision of the company and they wouldn't even know what to say... But just shake their heads. Pembina upper management has never cared about anyone below as long as the stock price was high and they got their bonuses. Ambitious vision at the top with the blind leading the blind below. It's also obvious that Pembina has a very inexperienced HR team who were wholly unprepared for these layoffs and are now looking to make things easier for themselves... Heard they revised documents within the severance package "on the fly" and re-submitted to former staff last week. One revised document gives ex-employees just five working days to hop through an additional hoop with their bank to get severance deposited in their own RRSP account. I feel for my former colleagues getting kicked again while they are down.
