Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Tillman's Premier Leadership

At this point we have SI7, Focus 2020, five strategic imperatives or initiatives. Thank you Lee for the tremendous leadership. Also good job on the social media diversity efforts which are a boost to shareholder value.

For what it’s worth, it’s HRs job to protect the company, not the employee. Always has and always will be that way.

The made a mistake because they hired a CEO focused on talking points and clean Powerpoint files instead of execution. He's also made some putrid external hires which hasn't helped. Got every acquisition wrong via help from BD. Probably the least self awareness of any CEO.

I knew when Clarence retired and they hired Lee from Exxon to run the leaner Marathon that they had made a mistake. Why would you hire a guy from the largest integrated oil company to run a “new and much leaner” Marathon? He knew nothing about running an Independent and it was obvious from the start. Forget about outside influences.

Let’s not forget HR. What a useless team. They protect the corporation not the employee. Talk about Fake News.

Lee is an absolute a–... upward and onward (hopefully, maybe, eventually) for those let go.

Maybe Lee's next job could be CEO of a toy store where he could be himself as a PeeWee Herman character?

The journey to premier is a road with many turns, diversions, detours and distractions, mostly of our own making.
