When will you people just wake up and realize that right to work should be a national thing, and not state by state. If you don't want to join the union you should have a right to just say no. Its just common sense .I don't see what all the fuss is about. The unions are an outdated experiment that failed.

You who opt out of union membership shouldn't get union representation. If they make that part of right to work for less, I'm all for it.
Yeah Unions of the riff-raff dont do anything but serve themselves and the paychecks they make off members dues. Just as corrupt as politicians...
You can opt out of Union dues ANYWHERE! Its called "non consenting member" . You wull be charge for costs related to collective bargaining but that it!
The UNIONS are nothing short of money grabbers who do nothing. In the 3 to 5 years most if not all mechanical forces will be sub contracted out. JLS is going to be sold and 1 man crews will be a the rage.
I actually did quit and go somewhere else and get paid the same and less bullshiiiit. So there’s that. You can have that awesome union job that protects you from everything lol
Well over half of the ptc work done was by contractors, the 1 man crew is coming. So again didn’t you say the union would prevent that? 😂 Right on BrOtHeR!!!
I have learned to look at the railroad unions in a slightly different way. Ask yourself what would your craft look like without a union?
Mechanical crafts - Contracted out
Conductors - Severely cut, 1 man road crews immediately
MOFW / Signal - Contracted out
I think it's safe to say that those left working in a non union class 1 would have severely cut pay and benefits because it would mirror what a non union short line pays, or the so called "market" wage.
The truth is, the railroad unions are the weakest of the unions in the country. There may no denying that. Compare them to the auto workers or teamsters at ups and it’s pathetic how weak they are. I’d be all for defending the union if they had a backbone like the others I mentioned. Unfortunately this is the way it is and always will be.
PSR actually started under the Bush administration... and continued through the Obama administration... that said, nothing has been done to curtail this job k–lIng invention since. Unfortunately there’s a lot of division in the political beliefs of many union workers and that’s really why it’s been able to go on this long. Too many union workers identify as republicans and sympathize with management and corporate ideas.. Until everyone is on the same page and united in the thinking that PSR is wrong this company will continue on its path of dismantling the railroad for profit. It shouldn’t make a difference what party your affiliated with, you should be willing protect your selves and coworkers from losing your jobs for really no valid reason.. As an outsider looking in, it doesn’t take an economist to know this is not gonna benefit rank and file employees, but only a small portion of stock holders and a few select higher corporate officials.... I guess this is the new American system of (together united). I wish you all the best of luck in you futures...
Rhight to work! Lol
Rhight to work is a right to give up everything,
Facts 💯
Well if you wanna make a far reach about politics over PSR, Hunter Harrison started it under the Obama Administration so there’s that. Keep reaching
The president is THIS he is a shinning beacon that represents what this all is UNCHECKED GREED and the individuals that think because they are in power and have a vast amount of wealth that they are infallible and are totally justified on what they do no matter what the damage it does. and you are the ill informed that believes everything that comes out of there mouth are the problem !!!!!!
The president doesn’t have a damn thing to do with any of this. The only thing that can’t fight PSR is the unions and it’s shown for the past 10 years or so how exactly strong they are 😂. Unions are supposed to be united, they aren’t. Then you’ll have some genius say “you can’t strike, they’ll just force you back to work”. News flash, If every employee stood at the entrance and refused to work, and I’m talking nationwide, it would change. Nobody is gonna hold a gun to your head and force you to go back to work. Yet here yall are, kickin and screaming, not getting your way, while the union continues to rake in their monthly membership dues while continuing to be spineless frauds. But let’s keep on deflecting the obvious and blame it on politics. That’s the only ammo you have...
Trump 2020 in a landslide!! S— it up lefty Libs...another 4 years ara-cumin! Sleepy Joe has zero chance!
The only reason this $hit is Even happening Is because of Donny boy’s pieces of $hit republican friends. it’s not the Democratic Party putting thousands of RR workers on the road. Friggin r—ded. You think for a second they give one $hit about you cause you love republicans... Your the real mo–n. for crying out loud I’m not even a Democrat and I can see this President is a complete embarrassment 👇🏽
Obviously quite a few id–t Republicans here. Keep voting for the party of the oligarchs and against your own interests
👇 Yea cause your democratic union has been working so well for the railroads lately 😂
Another id–t Republican who votes against his/her own interests.
If you think you'll be better off in a non union company, try the pay and benefits at a non union shop. You'll really like their retirement plan and wages.
You can save yourself about $15 per month. You cannot opt of of it entirely. If saving you $15 is worth it, then do it.
If you live in a right to work state you can opt out of union dues.
We have several fellow workers at my location that have opted out.
And more on the way.
Now according to your union contract there is a form to opt out and you will just pay a maintenance fee idk what the fee is.
Do not let them tell you there is no such form there is.
