Amazon = "You can all come back in October"
Facebook and Google = "You can all come back in January"
Oracle = ?
Not saying that the big O is in the same league as those three but we can dream can't we?

Interesting idea to just continue work from home and save money on the real estate.
But, then again, people who were working from home were being forced into the nearest office space. I suspect that was being done to make more people leave in the U.S. The goal here has been to get people to leave without a payout, and then hire cheaper people in other areas of the world.
So, I'm not too sure. People working from home are hard to force out of the company. If the goal is still to hire cheaply overseas, then why would they make it easier or nicer for people in the U.S. to work, by letting more of them work from home?
So why would Oracle not let some of that expensive real estate go
If it's rented, I could see them letting it go. But if it's owned, say a major campus like SCA or BRM, then good luck unloading it or renting it out.
Large corporate campuses could become the equivalent of the "dead mall".
My guess is we'll continue to see a work-from-home component to most Oracle jobs. COVID19 has shown us that WFH actually increases productivity. So why would Oracle not let some of that expensive real estate go, and increase employee satisfaction by continuing the option of WFH? It's a win-win for everyone.
Prediction - we will see more "hotel" cubes in less densely populated office spaces, with an overall reduction in real estate.
Oracle mid-level manager with more than 15 years at Oracle
Tomorrow, they they could get away with it. Oracle has a ton of controlling managers who want to see butts in chairs at the office.
Oracle is the dumpster of tech. Worst place to work.
I work at oracle and oracle couldn’t shine the shoes at anyone at AWS, Google, Microsoft, or even Salesforce. Oracle is the worst place I’ve ever worked and I’ve been here for 13 year. Now I just collect my check and watch tv.
I don't get the fretting. So far there has been no announcement, probably because there can't be one until the pandemic is over.
Has BRM reopened? From what I have heard Colorado has lifted its stay at home order
Re: the desk hugging 30 something Seattle MBAs in OCI. I'm sure there are some nice people there. If you know any, good for you. Maybe I'll find some. Now that I'm interacting with them every day, all I can say is their bartenders filter to allow in human garbage. Nasty, arrogant, people who actually think they are better than everyone but dont care enough to actually get to know anyone. The "dont be a jerk" rule is obviously a joke as is immediately evident the minute any one of them opens their mouth. The amount of WTF moments I have on conf calls is amazing. It is sad really that working together cooperatively is displaced by an environment of bullying, one upmanship, etc. Remember that sparta fell - it was not a model to be emulated. The third reich used it as a model and that was not exactly a great idea either. It has no place in this world. Grow up and join the 21st century of building company cultures.
The desk huggers at OCI- the 30 something MBAs with no other experience - are starting to make noise about getting people back into the office in seattle. Guess they dont feel like they have a purpose if they're not speed walking from conf room to conf room all day. Unfortunately I doubt anybody will figure out what a waste of space they are.
