You can get furloughed but it doesn't take effect until your off medical and that's confirmed
I was furloughed while I was out on medical. Once I was released by my physician I went right into furlough status so don’t be in any hurry. Make sure you fully healed or healthy before your released from your doctors care
You can be laid off while off on sick leave. But you can draw sick pay from Railroad Retirement until it runs out. When your sick leave runs out you can file for Railroad Unemployment and then exhaust those benefits.
You can go out on medical within 5 days after being furloughed. You can ride medical out as long as possible but once you’re cleared you’re done for. Speaking from experience. As far as being off sick or in dars, they can still furlough you but it won’t go into effect until you are cleared to come back to work.
That’s not all true and I’m sure it depends on which craft but I know I have 5 days after my furlough date is posted to get out on medical. It’s really easy to go out too. Just tell the doctor you’re stressed you might lose your job and you’re scared you’re going to make a mistake that hurts you or someone else.
No. This won't work...Even the id–ts we work for won't let that happen. Once your number is called, your time is up whether working or not. Many people think they can go out sick, but once your furloughed, you're furloughed
Yes. U can get furloghed while off sick. Don't believe the other posters. I was one of them.
Nope , that's whate and my buddies are going to do to avoid going to Juniata ; )
Probably, that would be an opportunity for them to save money at your expense .
