Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

APC MASTER THREAD: How many months you asking for and why?

Please stay on topic and use this thread for crowdsourcing ideas on how many months of base pay to bid on in the new and not improved Oxy VSP program.

I'm still trying to decide but my rock bottom submittal will be 24 months. My COC lump sum would be equal to 32 months base pay, not including bonus/LTI/PTO payouts. So on one hand bidding 24 months seems like a lot, but relative to the COC it's really not.

What's everyone else doing?

Incorrect. The COC lump sum payment includes historical bonuses in your monthly compensation calculation, so you can very much so get 32 months of monthly base salary. Verified via the COC calculator on the insider.

Your COC could not be 32 months of base pay. It's capped at 24 months. You need to go read the document.

To say any number reflects a mental bridge very perilous to cross for once it’s verbalize one had already checked out. I would advise to say nothing for at the end of the day they are going to do what they are going to do. Negotiations 101 the first person to say a number is at a disadvantage. Also 101 is the first deal is the best deal, TVM so easy to say having taken the VSP last year.
