While I feel SO terrible about the recent lay-offs by WW, I can't imagine there is a GOOD way to find out you've been fired.
But really, the culprit isn't WW; it is the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic crisis it has created world-wide.

These days if they sat across a table from you and looked you in the eye there'd be a scandal that they spread COVID.
I was with them for 19 years. How it was handled with a phone call was heartless. I wish I knew how they decided who goes and who stays. Only 1 other person in my area besides me was let go.
Yes, a face would have been a nice way to start and not so cold and heartless. We are at the frontlines ( or should I say were) keeping the members coming in, keeping them motivated and dedicating a lot of our free time to keep our members coming back to WW every week and that 2 minute call was the best that they could come up with. If you are still employed with this first cycle of firing, good luck because a second storm is coming and I bet you will feel the same as all of us. It’s not fun. It’s heartbreaking. We deserved better. We gave the company better.
When I was layed off from Nursing 25 years ago the Nurse manager and HR people sat across the table from us and looked us in the eye. Its never good , but could have been done much better.
I'm so upset. I'm trying to figure out what criteria they used to decide who stays and who goes. It seems random, but I'm sure I'm missing something.
It was heartless and random.
By your name, I'm taking you're still employed...that's great for you! Not so much for those that were laid off in a such a cowardly way.
while yes, getting laid off isn't likely ever great news, overall it's much worse to layoff your team with no warning, humanity or grace. a robotic call that was scripted and heartless when this company's purpose is to "inspire healthy habits for real life" – this did not reflect that.
OK, I agree.
It could have been handled with more grace, emphaty, compassion and humility.
