Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Executives can party while we lose our jobs...

Lay offs are coming, anyone can see that but not the people spending Nike’s money as if it were their owe. Shareholders would be shocked at the things the executives are spending on! Lavish trips, all their meals even though they make so much money, their clothes, personal parties and gifts for them selves and HR to keep them quiet. I’ve seen it all and it continues. Meanwhile we will get cut while they get no repercussions. I hope John Donahoe changes this culture of waste and cover ups.

Crazy. I left over 3 years ago but all of the comments are the same. I guess nothing has changed.

They should wait till the fall and then ask workers how long it's been since they seen or heard from their senior management since summer started. Use that as a guide as to who needs to be culled.

Omg the waste and partying! But that gets you promoted. I was on an offsite where my VP took us and our spouses to Hawaii all paid for. We didn’t work. This was just for fun, small group. He has been promoted over and over. And his wife get $$$ in business thanks to him. If I lose my job all will come out...

One thing you should know about Nike. When, not if, layoffs happen they will be sudden, chaotic and lack any sort of communication, empathy or proper planning. That is the Nike way given how many stupid Sr. Directors, EVPs and VPs are running around that place. The worst of the bunch are in fact the Sr. Directors - they think they the have all the authority in the world yet they produce absolutely nothing. The farm the work out to their Directors who do all the work but the Sr. Directors claim all the credit. The Directors are the ones managing the employees, are close to the employees, they know they are suffering because of these mo–ns called Sr. Directors. I am sorry to say that Nike has become the worst place to be at....shame.

Why do you think layoffs are coming? It makes sense, the June layoffs of 2017 were when the economy was good and they still found a reason to let 1400 people go. Many of those were political hits.
