Thread regarding CommScope Holding Co. Inc. layoffs

Corona Layoffs

It would be deceptive to believe that Corona would pass Commscope without a trace. Does anyone have information that layoffs are being planned based on the current situation? I've heard of lists.

I think some are referring to layoffs that happened in April - with their exits planned for later this year. No new notifications ive heard of.

Sadly, I have to agree that management haven't communicated clearly who are critical and who should remain at home until the lock down is lifted. That has left the door open for manor builders to throw their weight around dictating who should go into work while they sit safely at home looking at their monitors.

The problem is I'm not sure the management can identify who has critical skills or even what skills are required. It's pretty clear that we are treated as interchangeable resource, domain knowledge isn't needed, you can always reinvent the wheel

Management must be facing a terrible dilemma at the moment. A global pandemic which may reduce head count, while at the same time needing to keep employees with the critical skills required for the post-corona recovery. If the corona lockdown extend into June, and sales falls to where the company starts to make a loss , the situation will become an existential crisis given the highly leveraged nature of the business.
