Thread regarding Panera Bread Co. layoffs

Laying off Managers

Panera is laying off restaurant managers company wide and is using the Coronavirus as an excuse to do it. It has been in the works for months. Panera is basically trying to have more of a McDonald’s management staff. One salaried manager a The rest low paid hourly shifts.

RIP Panera

This is what happens when you sell to a foreign corporation, they do not care about the American worker only about making a profit for themselves. The senior employees who helped make the co what it is and worked through the pandemic were repaid by losing their jobs or having their pay cut. They are hiring untrained employees at minimum wage. So glad the word is out about what they are doing. Will never go there again. Panera you are dead!!

They’re gonna lose most of their associates then lose customers. If you’ve worked at Panera you’ll know what I mean. It a very stressful, demanding and overwhelming job to be a manager at Panera, most associates work for Panera because of their managers not for the s—y paycheck.
Soon you’ll hear about Panera laying off DM’s the regional directors then closing store That’s what happened with Starbucks back in 2008 and they never recovered after that.
Go Panera , you’re done.

Panera just laid off at least 40% of their catering sales managers/inside sales reps nationally, the rest to follow in the coming days/weeks. This was the last department bringing in the remaining dollars out there. This from companies feeding their entire staff, as they stay and work overtime to keep up with the demand (grocers, big box stores, warehouses, etc.) This is a team that made YOU-PANERA- POS, triple digit millions upon millions yearly. Up 30% in 2019 from the year before. Then add insult to injury, Panera gave people who had devoted years- 8, 10, 20 years of loyal service a pathetic severance of less than a months pay.

While other CEOs are not taking a salary from their multi-millions dollar paychecks to make sure the people who help build their company, were taken care of, Panera cut people loose without a care.

Panera is a disgrace to companies. "we're all in this together" Really??? you mean "the leaders are in it together" and everyone else who was let go; you are on your own.
