Thread regarding Enterprise Rent-A-Car layoffs

local part time drivers

I work for Enterprise rent a car and last week they let 100 of our local part time drivers know we were going to zero hours due to a 50% reduction in business. Anyway, any help would be amazing. Thanks!

Sounds like grounds for a good law suit!

After almost 18 years as a part time employee, I am unable to return to my occupation as a lead driver for Enterprise. My compromised health situation prohibits me from returning to that job. I received a letter from the hospital where I was tested informing me to not return. We lost 5 co-workers to Covid 19. What did they know, when did they know it and why didn't they tell us?

As a part time driver if I’m called back I will not return due to the virus unless the vehicles are being sanitized

Enterprise laid off part time employees. Several of us drivers were paid our Accrued PTO(paid time off) called choice time. HR Inadvertently reported it to UI office As vacation (per conversions and documents from our UI office, PTO should not be reported), it caused our unemployment to be frozen for three weeks and the PTO was deducted from our UI checks. I contacted HR, lady told me that the Only way to report PTO/choice time was as vacation, I told her that part time employees don’t get vacation and she shouldn’t have reported it, she said that she didn’t know how to correct this and couldn’t help me. From my experience after working over a year it doesn’t surprise me, it’s a very poorly managed company and only are concerned for the owners not employees, thank God that I am retired and don’t depend on the income, I would hate to think that this would have been my career when I finished college many years ago, it’s a terrible company for agents and managers based on what I’ve seen.

Part time worked 4 years salary under 10.00 hour enterprises do not appreciate older worker, when they restart with full time workers can not deliver what they promise because the young workers

What's the deal with Enterprise sending our unemployment packages in the mail. Curious to know if our commission will be on our last check. The last check I received today seemed pretty low compared to my commission that I viewed before we were laid off

Same here in Maryland. Last week didn't even tell most of us that operation was shutting down for 2 weeks min. I found out from a FB friend at work, who got it secondhand himself. Message went out from district HR manager but need a smartphone to get it (I still have a flip phone).

"The Enterprise way" If you ain't sales, you ain't #$%t.

They did the same thing in Michigan, ahead of the coronavirus. S—s, but because of bill, employment will be lots more then actually working.

Part time doesn’t hold any ground unfortunately. When and if company gets back to where it was you should have a job waiting.
For safety id look around, this is a way for large companies to start over with employee base.

Sorry this happened
