Thread regarding The Container Store layoffs

Are we sure we'll be called back?

I'm petrified this might last longer than expected and some of us end up never getting called back as a result. Please somebody tell me I'm being paranoid for nothing?

File unemployment. Contact your local resources for Medicaid for your children, food stamps have eased qualifications, many school districts are still distributing food for pick up, rent and electricity payment services. Look for something else. Do not wait. I used to work for them 8 years before they changed. It was great then I was given no hours and no one said why. I hear everything has changed. The culture is not what it used to be.

Don't freak out the unemployment is very good right now with the fed adding to it. If your store leval employee (and layoff is permanent) there are some jobs out there and will be plenty more withen the next 90 days. If your in upper management or work in some capacity at corporate this could be difficult. A lot of company's are downsizing these positions right now and are less likely to ever bring them back.

I am super stressed.

Both me and my wife are not working right now. We are both in retail. Two kids and very little money saved.

This is horrible.

Not sure what to do.

You won't be called back....they've done this before. Don't fall for it go elsewhere. Upper management are greedy. Sure some took 45% paycuts but that leaves them still making approximately $500,000.00 for CEO alone.
