Engine Maintainers Complaining about trash in Engines

Took an engine to the pit after a 12 hour day, forgot something on engine and went back for it. Maintainer came up and started complaining that T&E need to "help them out" by taking all their trash with them off engine. Nodding, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mind you the trash was all in 1 bag hanging on hook, nothing was scattered or on floor. Maintainer starts complaining that they have to sanitize engines so the trash is in the way. I am thinking "yeah I just worked a 12 and got jerked around for the last 3 hours trading it". Kind of pissy by maintainers because they are all getting jobs cut now they complain they have too much work to do? Isn't it their job to take the trash off the power?!!! Its not like the engine was full of scattered trash all over, it was in one bag. Do these guys realize they are losing jobs, why so lazy?

Treat the engine cab like a pig sty . You don't have to worry because the trash you leave will be a problem for someone else. As long as I don't have to worry about cleanliness , I wont care, after all, its not my problem anymore.

I have no issue picking up some trash from the floor or taking trash out that is bagged nor do I have an issue with wiping control stands down and what not but what I do have a problem with is slobs that drop chips, chunks of bread, pretzels or sunflower seed shells and pistachio shells all over the floor and expect the maintainers to clean it all up every time. We are not your wives or mommy’s. Do you do this at home or in your own vehicles?

We take the trash off the power at each station between initial and final terminals. When the power gets put away in the house it's the job of the maintainers to get rid of it. We bag everything, tie the bag and leave it to be disposed of by maintainers. We have to carry all of our gear off the train back to the brick and finish work, hauling trash around with us also doesnt fly with me. The engines are never clean and filthy, I wipe down the engine stand and tables and the paper towels look black afterwards- that's after getting it from the pit supposedly clean. Maintainers why don't you "maintian" and clean the oil off the windows instead I am calling someone out to do it because there is nothing on the engine to do it ourselves.

they will throw it away. on the ground in the middle of the yard, you know where car inspectors can trip and slip on it. then someone else will have to pick it up from there
