I was laid off from a Sales Operations role this morning. I hear that layoffs will be company-wide.

You’re all better off in the long run. I doubled my income and have been thriving since Allscripts layoff 6 years ago. That hole will s— you in and leave you feeling like you had the worst one night stand.
I was surprisingly latex off that same day
Middle Management is expendable. Allscripts too top heavy and it’s a quick fix for the number they’re trying to reach.
It will happen again, and again, and again.......
Employees did not learn from history. I am one of them.
There was someone who put their pockets first and put a hole in the pocket of the people, either the citizens or the employees. This was 'cost cutting'.
Outsourcing, restructuring, reorganizing and lot of such terms are just to get one to focused on the vocabulary rather than the message conveyed.
It's not just the primary employees that are affected, the outsourced centers will receive the brunt sooner or later.
Note that leaders of the industry are using all possible means to save their jobs rather than save the organizations, hence, even they are not loyal to the company.
So, be loyal to the work you do, help as many people whose life you touch, and keep upgrading yourself with knowledge of technology (not product).
Your knowledge will never be plundered and those who, you've helped will help you in ways you can never imagine.
Indian or American or British or European - we all get affected due to corporate greed. We can't change that. Best is to do what we can control. Change ourselves.
Anyone know if CHMB will get hit? It’s scare everywhere for all of us.
I wish I could say it was fun, everyone. Best wishes on whatever path you end up on. I guess this is how it feels being dumped into threadbare coverage in the middle of a once a century plague. One more drink for this dying company, cheers.
And that is why I left last summer, saw the writing on the wall
the offshoring to India has been going on for many years now. NA workers have consistently picked up the slack for them. Management constantly moved their work to NA when they didnt complete it or were nor qualified to do it. Do i blame my Indian counterparts? No. I blame management who held them to a lower standard. But hey they are the heart of the company.
If you have been with Allscripts for any length of time and thought it wouldnt happen to you, your head was in the sand.
If you made it through this and arent actively looking to leave, either you still have your head in the sand or your hoping for severance.
Advice is dont count on the severance, burn your PTO as quick as you get it so you dont lose it and look for something more stable than this sinking ship
Laid off as well yesterday. Let's be honest, this company is a sinking ship. Losing EHR customers on a daily basis, which forces Veradigm to purchase patient data from aggregators in order to meet their sales contracts. And the best part is that at least some of that data that was purchased last year, was Allscripts to begin with. Seriously can't make this sh– up.
ybb+14neA04I: the decision to offshore tech jobs to India is a perfect example of executive incompetence. And when the head of a group states that those associates are the heart of the group, it does nothing but demoralize the people who put in years of work creating those products. A real punch to the gut. It would be more acceptable if the quality of work done offshore wasn't consistently poor. But you can't ignore that reality.
I was laid off as well today. Support for FMH. We lost about a quarter of the team.
Either the CEO works for another company as a spy or the wheel is turning but the hamster is dead.
The current stock price places MDRX in gun sights of major PE firms.
Paul is out of runway, and the company will be taken out by PE's. They will sell of Careport, Veradigm, 2bePrecise and any other part of the business that can be sold for cash.
What's left will be operated as a declining revenue stream, meaning they will slash expense and try to squeeze the remaining customers to maximize return on investment, understanding that they are milking a dying cow.
I hear that several major PE firms are circling and trying to decide when to bite.
Instead of firing 5% of its workforce (its more than 10% IMO), the CEO should have resigned if he had an iota of honesty and integrity. He has been failing in his job for several years now. And wow, he is bragging about a 40% cut from the millions of $$$ he makes. Pathetic and disgusting to the core!!!
I don't agree with the anti-India sentiment but I don't like getting paid less money for doing more work because critical people are gone
Seems like every time there’s a lay-off, people (some, not all) tend to blame India.
Mother f—er, your management and company called you expendable.
You think India is to blame?
Did you bother blame the poor sales people?
Did you bother to blame the people who won’t learn new technical and personal skills?
Did you bother to blame the Solutions Team that won’t learn new clinical techniques or attend conferences to learn what our clients want (why are we losing to Epic/Cerner/Athena/eClincalWorks)?
Did you bother to blame the management and board for sh–ty corporate decisions (PracticeFusion, HealthGrid, Avenel)?
Don’t blame those who had barely 5% of the reason you and this company is where it is.. it happened in 2011, 2013, 2016 and now... yet each time I see people blame “India”.
As a pervious poster said, “grow a pair” and learn to fight for the right reasons and ask for accountability from the right folks!
ALLSCRIPTS LAYOFFS:
All contractors already let go.
Now this:
Beginning this week, we are reducing our global workforce by approximately 5%. Nearly all of the impacted associates will be notified on April 8, with an expected last day worked of April 15. All impacted associates will receive severance, continued healthcare subsidies, and post-employment job placement support in accordance with the Company’s policies and legal requirements. We will treat every associate with respect and dignity throughout the process.
- We are implementing a temporary salary reduction for our highest-earning associates, with Paul leading the way by taking a temporary 40% reduction to his salary. Other temporary reductions will begin with those whose annual salary exceeds US$100,000, and larger temporary reductions for those with higher salaries. The temporary reductions will be as follows:
• Salaries of $100-150K – 15% reduction
• Salaries of >$150-225K - 20% reduction
• Salaries of >$225-325K – 25% reduction
• Salaries greater than $325K – 30% reduction
Haven’t heard anything... in sdo
A lot of people who remain are now hit with:
No Bonus = 15-25% hit
Pay cut = 15-30% hit
No Severance = several months of pay
Let's say morale is not high for anyone...
Anyone know if CHMB will be hit?
Are they providing severance? If so, how many weeks? My work is getting moved around and I’m worried now.
I was laid off as well. Marketing.
To @rlk+14neA04I - you hit the nail on the head!
@rlk+14neA04I
Totally called it on using CoVID-19 as an excuse. Pauls letter goes on for two long paragraphs about how it's CoVID-19 causing all the problems.
What team/areas?
5% reduction per Paul Black.
Salaries above 100k reduced by at least 15%
No raises this year
I was just told that I lost a team member (20+ years with company) they're saying his/her last date will be end of next week but they're not seriously expecting any more work. No word on package/severance. It's a small team to begin with, work will need to be spread around a bit more, another layer of hats to wear, and – as usual – there's been a recent increase in "metric capturing" busywork in SFDC and Oracle which means more painful drone activity to "prove" we're working so there's that to look forward to as well.
In addition, there has already been and will be some additional inter-team shifts in personnel. A situation where a few people get "promoted" but there's no backfill on the vacated positions, which are often regional. That means some other team like ours will have to dedicate the regional resources to cover multiple regions - again, normal operating procedure. Other resources are being moved to different teams for other reasons, which typically means that they're productive and money-making but otherwise no one can figure out where to put them.
It's hard to gauge the mood since we're all working from home but I guarantee the office is going to be very empty-feeling when we get back there. Can't wait to hear the official Party line, thinking they're going to pin the blame on Wuhan Coronavirus, but nobody is in the least bit surprised by any of it. This company has some of the sloppiest, ham-fisted, and tone-deaf reductions in force I've ever seen.
Yes, there have been lay-offs today. I confirmed with someone that was impacted today. Not a good day at Allscripts.
Me too, plus six on my immediate team.
Yes company wide. Didn’t think there were people in the states left to go. When will India get cut?!
Company wide today. 10%.
Yes big cuts. No raises
