It's started!

A pile of contractors, temps and new people just got shown the door. Rumors are swirling of more cuts in the next week or so.

9700 views. Seems to have slowed down. My feeling is that they are waiting a bit because of the corona virus. It may be on permanent hold. I am wondering if Oracle will be receiving money from the government and perhaps LE is waiting to see how things shake out. I would have thought that SC would have pushed for layoffs regardless. So, don't know what's going on.

If they were going do it, they would have already started. Look at Disney, tens of thousands have been let go, from all divisions.

I would expect people to be worried. Over 20 million people in the US have lost their jobs in less than a month. But just because they are worried it doesn't mean layoffs are imminent. Not saying there won't be any, just that we don't know,

I'm just guessing, but maybe the people who execute layoffs (pun intended) must be adjusting to working-from-home. The people who coordinate layoffs must normally be in-office-employees and they must be adjusting to working-from-home right now. Based on the posts here, it would seem that their productivity (layoff count) has decreased over the past few weeks. So, maybe that's why we haven't seen more evidence of a higher number of layoffs these past few weeks. If that's the case, then the layoff teams will be getting settled into working-from-home now, and we can expect the layoffs to resume, very shortly.

Over 8000 views now. People are truly concerned. It is definitely true that rumors must be swirling. That seems like a good indication that there is some truth to some large layoffs coming up.

A policy of aggressive cleansing is definitely called for both here and in Europe.

Over 4000 reviews on this one. That says the rumors are true to me. It means people are looking here. Same thing happened last year in march when a few hundred were laid off. Counts go up when the rumors are true.
