Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Nothing from TR, Refinitiv or Blackstone regarding assistance for those RIF’d during pandemic

While other large companies and municipalities doing all they can to assist people and employees such as moratoriums on layoffs, forgiving rent, no evictions for 90 days, taxes extended until July, special pandemic unemployment insurance and federal supplement, how is it that none of these 3 have issued a 30, 60 or 90 day extension on someone’s termination date or severance increase for those that cannot find employment during this trying time? Blackstone donating heavily to NYC and on the POTUS Economic advisory board but can’t help out their current soon to be former employees.

Also, why is no one from Reuters News looking into this and reporting on it?

Pretty simply, TR is rather transparent, once you are out, you are persona non grata, sad but true. Extend those deadlines? it would shock me, it would be the right thing to do, especially for health coverage, but no way. They are so cash heavy it would send a great message to it's employees and former employees, but in reality I would be shocked if they did any of that. On the flip side, I would be they use this as an opportunity to trim the headcount.
