Can I continue to work from home and not go back to the retail store? My mailman said that this thing could go on for 18 months and without a corona shot it is extremely risky working in a retail store. I have a 15,17 and 24 year old living at home with me and I need to make sure they are safe and taken care of. Does anyone know if we will get a buyout package and we can collect the unemployment?

You should be a truck driver or deliver groceries. Our whole economy is upside down. Forget pride. Do what you need to do to bring home the bacon.
WFH redeployments are going to be permanent
While I do respect the OP and his/ her fear.
But come on, forget what the doctors, CDC, WHO, and modern medicine say... OP's mailman has the crystal ball 🤣🤣🤣
Really? Come on, put out some effort instead of looking for someone else to do it for you. Take Action! There are thousands of jobs working from home-go get one!
You may be able to stay on the phones.
"What if I am afraid to go back to work?" Uh well, then go find a new job and career. But you already knew that right OP?
I mean working retail for the rest of your life is kind of lame anyways and long term will probably mean cirrhosis of the brain from lack of use.
"Do you want fried with that?"
"Do you want HUM with that?"
"Do you want tablet with that?"
Time to grow up and put your big boy pants on and get a real job.
I think that is a legitimate question to ask and I also work in retail but do not know the answer. The reality is that even if it’s a month or two down the road some retail store employees will be afraid to go back. Honestly the best answer I have to that is hopefully Verizon will offer voluntary furloughs. There are thousands of retail workers currently sitting at home doing nothing. Many that chose to WFH and were picked don’t even have equipment yet to do so. Those that were suppose to be part of the second redeployment will be the most susceptible to get laid off.

What even is this... Clearly you don't work in retail as you would know the answer.
Your mailman? That’s how you stay informed?
