Has anyone else heard about cutting full time positions?

So much for rumor. All the GSMs got fired. All the Gun Library managers got fired. Bass Pro f—ing s—s.
Problem is, I need the healthcare. If they pink slip me this month, or better yet bust me down in job rank or put more responsibility on me to make me want to quit, I am out there with literally millions of others looking for work. Right now would probably be the time for BP to fire people. They are pushing in my store for more cross department training/responsibilities. In my time with the company, I have only seen them not get an exact goldilocks wellbeing ever. This virus definitely upset the apple cart too and I do not think for a second they will just go on as normal. No, I have a lot of distrust for what is going on behind the scenes.
There are so many better jobs out there. I dont understand how any of you continue to have your soul eroded by a company that doesn't care about you. Just remember, if you died on the way to work, all they would be concerned about is how are they going to cover your shift. Get out. Run from that place. Cabela's has been a shell of its former self for at least a decade now. Flipping burgers is preferable to working for Cab/BP.
They fired our second in command for wanting to furlough. Poor soul is now working menial retail job nearby for 1/2 pay.
Employees feel the squeeze. They notice corporate trying to cut as much store management as possible. They want to cut payroll to the bone. Get rid of experienced workers. Bass Pro thinks Cabelas is a gas station where all you need to do is take an order and ring up a soda pop. It seems corporate wants 1 GM running a store, and have everyone else be pimple faced kids and retirees making minimum wage. Pay leads a dollar or two more to be department managers without the title or salary. The Walmart/Home Depot/d—s Sporting Goods mentality at the top is going to gut Cabelas from the inside out. The customers hate what Bass Pro has done, and so do the employees. It seems to me maybe they don’t want Cabelas to be profitable. Maybe they want it to fail. Thats certainly the way they’re running things. Get out while you can.
I read on the BP site that layoffs are planned for end of June.
Just rumors, no truth to it.
I just read the BP board. Posts about layoffs for full timers and leads and HR. Would not surprise me if they got rid of their experienced employees. Not one bit. Thing is, if we know this based on some message board leak, come on, then all our leads should know about this already. If the company is in this much trouble, do we want to be working for them after all? The atmosphere at my store is laughable. Carrying on business as much as we can but customer base is a bunch of cranks. They don't understand the restrictions we are imposing due to the Covid virus. It would be something if the company implodes. Last ditch effort to save money by letting go their experienced employees? Can anyone say unemployment checks much better than what we make now from our jobs?
There's no truth to any of it.
