honeywell is stuck in 1983. today we are going through the first wave of layoffs. last monday we were asked to "self volunteer" and were given 1.5 days to decide. this morning (monday 5/18) we have meetings with HR. honeywell is going to lay off most of its staff that's been at the company for 4 years or less. rather than encourage early retirement with a good package, they rather wait the next 5 years for those folks to retire than pay them out their severance... so, younger people are being cut. it makes sense... honeywell has not innovated since 2001 and nearly everything is by hand.
expect to see a lot of posts today about layoffs at honeywell, after boasting about strong quarter earnings, millions of dollars in orders for n95 masks, presidential visit and hiring 1000 new employees. all for show.
