TTR was created for people close to retiring.. in the past it has normally been a year or more. The last one offered (systems) was for 3 years and will end July 31,2021.
As for a TTR with an end date of this year, it just is not worth it. Why give up salary for 6 months to work part time. Your better off working full time and collecting the $$$$ The worse that can happen is they let you go before the end of the year. If they do RA you it is normally with 2 months notice and then 1 month severance, so that is 3 months.. so if you took a TTR with year end of this year your really just getting an extra 3 months of reduced pay.
Plus what if you do not get hit then you can stay if you like or if they do RAs you can step forward and volunteer and maybe save someone else.
How do you answer that with out more details. Depends on what you get with it that would be better then simply retiring.
