Yes the word at Estero of more cuts to come as part of the bankruptcy actions. GM's will be reporting directly to RVP's . The ZVP role will be eliminated. Managers will be brought back expected to work as if on strike duty 12 hr shifts 7 days a week. Pay cuts will be 15%-25% based on pay grade. All bonuses will be on hold. Off AP locations will continue to close and the AM role will be eliminated. GM's will report to RGM/ZGM. Expect no fleet as Hertz will continue to liquidate risk cars and cancel program cars from OEM's. Estero id banking on competitors to also defleet to help manage inventory and allow for higher pricing system wide. And by the way that Hertz gold standard clean means nothing. If you are crazy enough to rent better bring your own Clorox wipes.

Riddle me this! Hourly employees keep getting let go, while they call back more AP managers who in most cases did next to nothing to begin with. My manager does not want managers doing hourly work. We use to be a'lot bigger company and only had one Region VP. One City Ops manager, and handful of Location Managers, now we have twice as many to do the same work, and most complain that they don't have enough time to play video games. It gets more frustrating every day. My GM is complaining that he can't play golf now at 2PM like he use too. Until they start cutting the fat of management this sorry comany does not stand a chance.

How long does it take to implement a global fleet management system?
How long does it take to realise that the global fleet management system that you have spent hundreds of millions on (that's right - hundreds of millions) is a pile of junk?
How long does it take to upgrade technology resources?
How long does it take to create a sensible employee work from home/flexible working policy?
How long does it take to come up with an EV strategy?
How long does it take to create a welcoming work environment?
How long does it take to implement a telematics strategy?
How long does it take to react to clear messages from Employee Voice surveys and not just shift the focus to middle management?
How long does it take to recruit effective senior leadership?
How long does it take to realise that reading a book on doubling your profits is not a sign of effective leadership (that's right, no leader had the guts to stand up and question the charlatan, high-court lying, horse meat gobbling, Gehlan)
How long does it take senior leadership to be accountable and take positive action?
How long does it take to fire useless cronies with no capabilities beyond sycophancy?
How long does it take to realise the Pricing/Revenue Management team is lead by a crook and a bully?
How long does it take to realise that employees have had enough and their loyalty has been abused for too long?

  • and finally, how long is a piece of string?

(clue - you have more chance of answering the last one).

Whatever, you can be sure that the wrong people are made redundant.
The managers then left behind, recruiting/promoting more wasters in their own image.

Happy days.

I mean how long does it take to scale down an organisation?!!

It’s going to blow - the problem is that the people at the top and the people who they have appointed to create the new organisation have no idea.

In other words, they are no good at blo–obs.

Which is weird, because that’s all they do all day to each other.

Why haven’t they made anyone redundant in the U.K.? It’s like we are sitting on a ticking time b@mb. Is it going to blow? When is it going to blow?

Because with the exception of the UK, where it is relatively easy, the level of redundancies required to rightsize the business in Europe would bankrupt the company.
It is incredibly expensive to fire Belgian, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish employees, and frankly Hertz Europe doesn't have the balls to do it.

Europe hasn't made any real profit for ever - only Italy and Spain make money. Belgium and Holland might do, but they are so small it's not worth it.

I say let Europe go, who needs it.

Why would they save Europe? Makes no sense.

Help me understand this: you work at Estero, and you know for sure they will declare bankruptcy?
And when is this suppose to happen?

Paul Stone was hired to cut US Operations to the bone during Chapter 11.

Get out now it is going to be evil bad for US Operations. GMs and RVPs will be asked to take 25% pay cuts, and ZVP will get the ax and the hourly staff will be pushed to exhaustion without any OT and lower pay if they get called back. A plan is in place now to outsource all car cleaning to vendors at every location. Been working at Estero for 15+ years and have a glass on the wall getting the news. So sad for this company.
