Yupppp unless something changes Verizon plans on keeping us WFH retail reassignment.
Who else is beginning to think this is permanent.

NYM Tuesday June 2nd going to 10 to 5 Monday thru Saturday closed Sunday. Going from 8 employees to 12 with 1 store reopened per District. No Mall locations till governor of state gives the green light. 2nd redeployment told they will work 2 days a week 10am to 5pm and maybe 1 week per month 3 days. With NY and Nj the epicenter of the pandemic no one has even mentioned testing or taking employees Temperature.upon entering a store? I've been told by a rep working that phone fraud is rampant!
One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. People getting told no more work from home by local leaders. Yet these leaders then find out they have no power. Even if stores are opening the head counts are going to be extremely low. They're going to work 6 reps 5 days a week. The hours aren't going to expand past 10 to 5 and continue close on Sunday. Local leaders also do not have a choice of who gets pulled from work from home and also what store are they end up in. any of you who think your entire districts go to open up like a light switch and everyone returns to where they were.. you clearly are being lied to and have no ability to see what's really happening.
My whole district will be reopened the first week in June. Everyone doing WFH in my district has been told they are back in the store that week.
Pretty much my whole territory will reopen the first week of June, not everyone getting called back yet but some are.
My entire district is being opened June 1st. We had only 4 stores but June 1st all 8 will be opened! Finally getting backed to normal
@1rqu+153sGmre Thanks for the update Hans
I know for a fact that isn't true.
If you are normally in a retail location and now WFH I would be concerned. Since you won’t be needed in the store at the end of your assignment where do you think the layoffs will start? Try pushing hard to get back into a store as quick as possible and see that they won’t let you.
Anyone talking about all stores open by June 1st is wrong. Literally public stockholder information speaking to September being earliest stores would be opened in full.
those up to speeds are for stock holders not employees it's painfully obvious
It was very clear on the Twitter live that September was being talked about for people to stay in their current reassigned roles.
There is no way that they need this many people to be customer care long-term. so I don't believe it will be permanent for all. People who are normally in a call center that are now working from home I would anticipate a lot of them are given the opportunity to stay at home. Will some retail people be given the opportunity to continue in the role most likely.
Even though retail stores have just expanded hours now going 10 to 5 Monday through Saturday. The current staffing will be able to cover those hours. Most stores have solution specialist working three days a week currently. Barely at their 40-hour normal. over the next few months those employees will continue to have increased hours eventually reaching the 40 hour mark.
Verizon is going to milk this opportunity to make changes they've been trying to make for years. Retail commission structure self-service options and teaching people that they do not need to go into a retail store. the touchless retail experience as they call it will continue and slowly evolved into an Express store model. I encourage you to read the press release from a few years back on Verizon Express stores and then read the press release on the touchless retail environment there are striking similarities.
if you work retail and work for commission you need to ask yourself do you envision having a queue of 10 people waiting in your store to get service. Absolutely not.
Headcount will be cut across the board. Some people may be given an ultimatum.
Call centers are expensive and a liability. I would envision one small call center that would be used as an emergency backup and training facility.
it is amazing how much information was given out over Twitter as a livestream and none of that information ever made it on any internal Verizon communication.
For real, give us time to understand and implement. Instead our director had to “fight” to push things back til the following Monday???? Nothing was pushed back, we had to follow the immediate change. What’s going on? Stop with the posturing. Treat front line, apparently “esintial” workers with more respect.
No one knows what the hell is going on...Verizon needs to be more transparent. Surprising stores with a Friday update with what is changing that day (how we handle customers) ON THAT DAY, is unaceptable
Stores in my area already back to three SS this week, and our state is going up in cases
Message from HR and a Director stated majority of stores will reopen June 1st. Reps 3 days a week and managers 4 days a week. If you haven’t already, you should of got a call from either a manger or HR if you are on a WFH assignment to see if you want to come back or stay on the WFH assignment.
Told by what level?
For the centers, it probably is permanent. ‘21 at the earliest for anything close to normal.
