You have to have enough stores to allow customers to make their returns without having to ship them back somewhere. You cut too many stores, you will lose that online customer because you made it too hard to return what's not wanted. This isn't just older people, it's people of all ages who do this. If you ever worked AYS, you would see what I mean. They also want to make their payments there, and quite often walk in and have someone do their ordering for them. Again, make it too hard by not having a store in the vicinity, and that customer is GONE!
We need to close many stores, and beef up online! Online shopping is where our fastest growth has been for the past several years. Gennette loves his beloved stores, and can't wrap his mind around the fact that they are not where the customers are. Work on our website, cut back on all the stuff we offer, get some decent state-side customer service, and communicate with all our customers!! They are the key to our continued business. Employees are too. Gennette has run this company into the ground since he became CEO. He needs to be replaced, and a team of experts put together to try and salvage this wreck of a company....if it's not too late.
It’s means Macy’s is up sh– creek without a paddle
Macy's will never turn profit again without severe cuts ... Must cut to just 200 stores to turn profit.
