Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

State of business NLR and other locations

So driving by the NLR yard and there was maybe a few trains yarded nothing leaving, waiting on a light, yarding, being humped, or just passing thru. The last time I saw it this bad was in 2008 when everything tanked, I remember even in the summers past 2008 the yard never was that empty or dead something was going on, are all locations experiencing this? Can the upper tier managers really keep the covid19 excuse alive much longer? Even the people in the community surrounding the yard that don’t work for this company are asking where are your customers, surely not that many are still closed and back logged? Some of the public are realizing what the employees already knew these leaders have pi$$ed off customers and they took that business elsewhere.

Using what you just wrote as a reference, your literacy is nothing to be proud of either.

It’s happening at all railroads. Car loadingS are way down everywhere. Ask any railroader from any railroad and they’ll tell you it’s really slow. You can convince yourself it’s a up leadership but you’d have to include all railroads leadership as well. Or you can accept that psr includes job cuts, covid has had a big impact on business throughout the world. At least be honest with yourself.

Companies will cut costs by using less expensive and more efficient ways of shipping, if your sales were cut by 2/3 on a product due to covid , UP wouldn’t want your shipping ... remember! Or if it were your product and you could ship it for less by truck and more efficiently, you’d do it! I bet UP wished they’d never cut off all those small customers now!

Shows how much you know. They're yard turning and humping everything. If you truly was here, you surly sat long enough to see the train gets yarded, the power cut off, turned, and the train humped, all in less than an hour, and new power added to it from the Service Track and or other turn power. And as they're humped here, they are turned into longer train's, that's why there's so many crossing getting blocked.

But of course you knew that since you're the Lead Fоamer here in NLR...
