Is it true that in some locations union employees are getting a call back while non union employees have to reapply for the position ?

Yes that’s true by senority
In the long run for those with no passion or desire to move up in life union is the way to go. If you don't mind doing the same job forever with no growth opportunity get a union position
So true...all of my union employees has been call back to work.
Union employees have recall rights and no severance. Non-union employees have severance and no recall rights. Pick you poison.
