Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Layoffs / Redundancies - USA vs Europe

Does anyone know how many of us have lost our jobs in the US? I think there has been 3 rounds, and maybe 15,000 in total?

To my knowledge Europe has only lost 1 (ONE) person.

How do you explain that?

20,000 layoffs in the US out of the 29,000 employees in NA.
There is only 9,000 left (over 2/3 gone).
As a total Hertz now has 18,000 employees globally (around 55% total were laid off).
Europe layoffs will occur on Q4 at the latest in my opinion.

No strategy at that point. Let's wait to see the US plan to get overt the Chap11.
But the most important is that the SMT received their bonus ($16.2million). Among them, Stone cashed $700k to stay until March 2021 (resulting in a nice raise from $500k LY to $1.7million during the crisis).
Isn't it fantastic?
I love it.
The company is going down the drain, employees are waiting and hoping, but the SMT keeps on making the bucks.
Smile and enjoy. Tomorrow you'll be fired.

I think ILT are holding back because they don’t want to pay anyone redundancy so we have all been sat here since April being paid with goverment furlough money while the ILT are on full pay for doing nothing..Except creating more disasters one day at a time.

Basically Revenue is 30% YOY and Summer peak is here, I honestly think they are waiting for bankruptcy to arrive so they can get us out for free..but I’m sure they will continue to look after themselves..appreciating together the mass failure they have created.

But we are in the dark we have had 3 calls in 3 months all the same unbelievable low level lies If you think US is in a bad place explaining the dysfunctional leadership here is impossible.. Oh and I agree they could not pull together a restructure plan it’s way above the level we now have...

Agree our leadership have been making a plan since March, unfortunately due to the skills they don’t have they have not managed to produce anything yet that resembles one.

When we tell you that the leadership here is a joke believe us AB is a disaster and for some reason Paul is blind to it basically so far we have heard she misses us, it will all be normal soon and we should all smoke green shoots to make us happy..this is fact she’s basically done nothing since arriving except talk about her self importance, emails are a strain for her, presentations a no she can’t get the numbers and your expecting a restructure plan that’s funny..our amazing wants to be CEO is basically Barbie..

Some protection in Europe but also combined with the absolute useless leadership that has zero clue how to restructure a suit case never mind run a business..It’s like a bomb waiting to explode nothing is happening here because they can’t put together a plan that’s basically the reason..it’s terrifying what the impact will be on the business in a month from now..

Brutal lack of employee protection in the US, and no government general employee protection schemes. Europe has then in most countries, and that is keeping Hertz alive.

For now. They will stop soon, and then we will see the impact of COVID-19, where revenue decline is even worse over here, and the impact on Hertz will be huge.

Mass redundancies expected very soon.
