Good, smart idea, why wouldnt they. Sell 30%, keep 51%, pay off tens of billions in debt or buy more companies that are in coronacrash.

Dell is going to sell all of VMware and not just 30%
Dell has 81% ownership , sell 30%, still got 51% and a majority control, pay off $20bn in debt, save billions a year in interest fees, still get control of the org. Smart idea
Horrible idea. Without VMWare, Dell in and of itself has almost no market value as a stand alone company. Short term gain for another long term insolvency, typical Dell playbook.
Dell is only good at financial engineering, not software or hardware engineering. This is what Michael Dell does, he is a pump and dump fraudster. Already fined by the SEC back in 2014, looks like he has no shame.
