Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Best Wishes

I accepted their severance for my position.. it was the best decision for me.. as a manger you see the destructive path they are on and it’s time to move on... I wish everyone let go and staying the best of luck.. I think those of us who got let go are better off than those we leave behind to deal with the mess that is being created in the stores.. Best Wishes to all.....

Post ID: @mvw+15FF1nR9 well said and thank you!!! All the sacrifices all around, if you could get all those times back. How many years of service? This quote is for you and your colleagues. Please be encouraged.

Well said. Everyone please understand it’s not always the best person for the job that gets the job and you all deserve so much better. The company we loved is no more and with Store Manager’s now completely unchecked it’s best to move on. Best of luck to everyone.

Very well said, all of you. I remember when this company went National, they said it would be better for all of us to cut costs in regards to marketing, advertising, buying, shipping, etc, etc...... Looking back, that was the end of Federated Departure Stores. We all drank the Kool Aid and p-ss-d off the customers by messing with all of the Iconic Stores Nameplates. That was the beginning of the end in my opinion. Great job Macys.......Years of sweat, family time lost, sacrifice, loss of dedicated talented workers. We all loved working for this company, for most with multiple years of unwavered perseverance. Most of us gave the shirts off our backs because we were proud to work for Macys and Macys dumped us in a 5 minute cold hearted, scripted conversation. I'm so ashamed to even say I worked for Macys. Some were so close to retirement and they gave them a measly 1 week for each year served capped out at 26. There should be no cap at all. Reward your employees that have sacrificed for you, as they have given you their lives. I wanted to retire from this company proud with my head held up high stating "I worked for Macys", instead I'm leaving bewildered and embarrassed. Such a waste.

The best talents bar none and hundreds of years were just thrown away. Such a shame

Very well said. Another commentor said this is not the Macys that we fell in love with all those years ago. Truly on the path of destruction. I don’t want to be in their club anymore! Glad my “ Position was eliminated.” Quite frankly, the company can’t handle the talent they have let go.

They got me four years ago. I thought that it was the end of the world. I had worked for so many years to be a manager and then it was over. The good news is that plenty of companies outside of retail are interested in the skills that we developed. The best is yet to come!
