Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Covid 19 positive

So I’m curious if other stores have had employees test positive and what the direction has been for others that worked closely beside them. Macy’s asks us every morning if we’ve been in contact with anyone that has tested positive but when you say yes my. Coworker was positive they still say it’s ok you can go ahead and clock in. Doesn’t seem right to me but that’s what’s happening

Call CDC this is unexceptionable. How stupid are you READ, the protocol if you have a fever 100 go home. Don’t expose yourself to anyone else this is how it is spread. Call your Dr. get a note from Dr. make sure you get paperwork saying that you tested positive. They can’t force you to go to work. Use your head!

Our department manager has it, she’s been out for 2 weeks. Compromised the entire staff. Store isn’t telling the associates, trying to keep it hush hush. Osha , Solutions and the Health Department have been notified.

Do the store managers or who ever is screening for temperature checks knows the difference between a flu or COVID-19? Are they medical experts to tell you it's ok, you could go to work. Wondering what's going to happen if a colleague has COVID-19 but still working his/her shift. Who is accountable for getting several colleagues sick of COVID-19? 🤔

I just don't know how store managers are going to handle it this fall and winter. Alot of people will be sick either with the flu or COVID-19.

Yes, happened in my store. Coworker was exposed to her close friend at dinner who's whole family was infected. She told the store manager in the morning check.in and she told her to clock in anyways and just watch for symptoms.

I posted this post and I promise you it’s true. The person tested positive is not working but those us us that have worked very close to that person we’re encouraged to still work. We are on the west coast.

No. The poster said when asked if we’ve been around anyone who tested positive, they sti tell the person who was exposed to clock in and work. It didn’t say they allowed the colleague who tested positive to work. But yes, if you around a colleague who tested positive, they let you work. Smh.

I find this impossible to believe, the stores have gone through the CDC requirements prior to opening and if someone is positive and they let him/her work anyway, that store can be shut down, executives fired. Just the facts please.

Once store managers are aware of the colleague, they are to submit an ask hr case. Ask hr reaches out to colleague. If it’s a positive case, all colleagues are notified by the company that there’s a case and colleagues who are known to be in direct contact are personally contacted. Of course management can’t disclose who the colleague is. They should clean the store but not sure if it’s just extra cleaning by our current cleaning company. I think it’s only an outside company when it’s numerous people who’ve tested positive.

Yes. Please call In - Store Solutions. I don’t know if anyone who can actually do something reads these but the cleaning standards, placement of the plexi shields and mask wearing is not being done correctly. Please check on your stores for the safety of your employees. Everyone do what you can to protect yourself!
