Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

No Walkout

There will be no "walkout". People are afraid to lose their jobs so no motivation to speak out. Those who do are terminated, ER looks out for the people in the club and for the company, if you rock the boat you will be forced out. If you try to take legal action they will bring the weight of its legal team down on you to suppress any dissenters. It is a totalitarian corporate culture where people don't speak up for themselves and those who have different opinions that is not the same as the party's will be whisked away. BTW those "anonymous" surveys are not always anonymous so people parrot what the leaders want to hear...

Fully agree with what you say. That is why sometimes, people chose nto to speak. It is like "If you can't beat them, join them". Otherwise, GET OUT!

Agreed, at the end, you owe nothing to Nike and Nike owes nothing to you. True for any 9-5 job. People get attached and emotional. If anyone had better opportunity, their reaction would be different and wouldn’t be focusing on walkouts, or b–ching, etc. don’t get me wrong, I concur with most of the assessments made on such threads about lobby, top management, HR, etc etc. but at the end, it’s a job in service industry. It has its own negatives such as lay offs. We can do all the talking, at the end of the day, that doesn’t change outcome. Focus and plan on next steps and ideally, always plan ahead of such news. Each job we do is part of our life whether we like it or not. Better to not burn bridges, remember happy memories like how we felt when we joined and how much we prepared for the interviews to join the company and move on To the next chapter of our life when the time comes. Good luck to all.

Just know that Nike misses NO ONE if they decide the leave.

@OP+15GfNiXs of course not - I do not expect employees to literally do that. I am guessing, but I do not think the previous person posting this "idea" really meant an orchestrated mass walkout though. Personally, if I am unhappy and I feel that it is not worth being there then I will walkout - meaning I will resign. Cheers, everyone and keep your head down.
