Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

More layoffs today...

They are starting to be a bit predictable with this... I wonder how much longer this is going to continue for, though... Unless there is Chapter 7 looming we don't know about, Honeywell still needs employees to do the work. The way they're going, there'll be nobody left by August...

Hey all - this is something very different. I know for a fact that Plymouth and Mpls MN as well as Urbana all lost >50% of AME - hundreds - in just a few days' time. Mpls lost all but 4 or 5 out of 40+. Obviously corporate isn't stupid enough to believe they can keep production lines going for even days with that lean of engineering support. They are changing all of Aerospace: shutting down, subcontracting all AME support, or preparing to sell, in least to most likely order, IMHO.

20% of the staff probably makes 80% of the problems with HR. I suspect they’re dealing with the stress as humans by being a little happy to see the problem children leave. Some folks just need to go, even in good times.

That will be new norm which is more with less. Squeeze the living life out of the remaining people sad enough to still be around.
Do not trust your VP to be making rational decisions and there will be an upcoming round again where the cuts will be at the higher top. Moving headcounts back and forth to accomadate a given savings target is what we are witnessing. It will be messy and hard but with less volumes coming in, we can all sit back and blame on the global pandemic and use that excuse for the rest of the year until our names gets called up.
By the way, does anyone realise that our HR people are insensitive during this RIF. Overheard this morning that the HR were rejoicing over the dismissal of certain individuals.

@eff: It's a bad move to give specific RIF info and tell everyone your site that may be traced back to your group. You just gave info that you are 1 of 3 people left of 6. It's not too difficult for Honeywell to figure out what group you are in.

I'm at sky harbor and my team went from 6 to 3 but the workload demand could support 7 people. Bummer for Honeywell is I'm not taking any of that slack up; in working the same speed and load I've been doing. In essence, HON isn't going to make their incompetence my problem as I have shifted the problem back onto them; not enough people to do all the work.

They took 6 voluntary layoff volunteers in our group and added two involuntary on top of that. Our department is a skeleton of what it was.
