Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

AA is a micromanager and makes decisions about things he knows nothing about. Getting moved under his group was a huge negative. I'm glad to be out for over a year.

Not that I really care because I was not part of Sun and have no affinity to Sun, but it just irks me when people feel the need to post something just for the sake of posting, without having the facts straight. The fact is that Sparc hardware added $1B US to Oracle's bottom line in FY '20. That's 1 BILLION to the bottom line - meaning profit after expenses. That doesn't sound dead to me.

@deb+15IS4xyr may be right. I am in SVP AAs hardware org, and my manager set up a 1-on-1 for tomorrow (7/1) at the start of my shift.

It is time to sc-ap Sun once and for all anyway. That company and market was dead looooong ago. SPARC is a money pit and no longer viable in the market. "Good-enough", cheap iron is all 99% of customers want. Slowaris is a POS, and may as well join the ranks of TPF, MVS, CMS, etc..

Good riddance Sun, and don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.

Its Ax throwing month, look out. If you're in SVP AAs hardware org, look out. If you're in VP KS's NAR hardware field support, its coming sooner than later. If your a TAM, 30% + will get the call. AA is a break/fix only minded exec. AA Doesn't realize the value of the field and relationships.
The day of the TAM and FE is over, for now. All those long days and nights of keeping the customers on-board with Sun/Oracle to spite the quality issues is forgotten.
Best of luck...
