Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Was an Allstate ambassador

I convinced a number of friends and family to do business with Allstate thinking that this loyalty would result in employment security for me.....
I felt bad about doing it over the last two years with things like quick photo which is terrible for the customer in my opinion. We tell the adjusters not to give the customer “homework” when the company puts a process in place where the customer does all of the estimate footwork.
I have informed those same folks of the outsourcing and process changes and they are in the process of moving their business elsewhere.

Well, I understand your thoughts , but most insurance companies are going this way. But you can take it to a DRP shop and they will do the Quick Photo or VA. At that point, it’s no different than going to a Drive In

I am a customer. I've used the quick photo. It works like a charm, and no need to have people come out and look at my car, work directly with the body shop, who I trust.

I'd recommend it, and have to everyone.

I have spoken to a number of customers who disagree and do not enjoy the many attempts to get the estimate accurate..
Makes me wonder what your position is with the company and how many customers you actually have spoken to regarding the process...
You seem to have a very low opinion of adjusters which is telling...

Sorry, but quick photo is a great tool. I've used it and it speeds up the process like you wouldn't believe. Does it get everything? No, but neither do adjusters. Body shops handle supplements just fine. IMO, and yep, this will get the down likes....Adjusters have been a bloated part of the company for a while.

Quick photo had nothing to do with customer service. It was simply the foundation for Glen Shapiro to “lay off” large numbers of auto techs...The hypocrisy of talking about “homework” for customers and forcing customers to complete their own initial estimate work and forcing them to deal with supplement after supplement is incredible.....
Glen Shapiro brought much of his staff involved in the slash and burn with him from Liberty Mutual...
This has been planned since the day of his hire...

Allstate
“Don’t give the customer homework” as we cut staffing, use outsourcing, and literally ask customers to use Quick photo and Virtual assist for their own estimates which are grossly inaccurate. We then tell them to call total loss status lines and pass them off to people in India.
We do this on the property side as well. Next processors and more staff will be cut putting more “homework” on the customers.
With all this going on out top execs are being paid millions more.
Allstate is being driven into the ground by out of touch greed at the top tiers.

I’ve participated in multiple optional committees and teams in my office, being told it goes toward performance and merit. I’ve never seen that to be true and especially now, I am disappointed in all that time I may have wasted. Think twice about doing any type of optional job duty in the future.
