If you are part of the Essex clan remaining, you know it’s just a matter of time. Bill has asset stripped, laid everyone off, so massively lowered costs, at the same time lowering service but still keeping the tariff coming in. The management team remaining can’t have much pride overseeing this and wondering when their turn will be. Even the jobs in Bangkok are not repacked and moved to India, baht to rupees, that’s how greedy this lot are.

Never mind old guard and whisky are sitting tight with the rest of the top tiers of the organisation and their over inflated job titles. Is their really a head of service anymore, like the head of Cyber security with a team of two !

As Henry Ford once said, a business that makes nothing but money is a poor business. This is a poor business and I feel for the poor people who remain.

In the UK teams are being shaved to the bare bone everything is up for grabs with redundancies made in infrastructure, risk, service desk, scm, end user support the lot!

Jobs r being shipped to India, China, Thailand or anywhere else till be done cheaper and less effective. The amount of incompetence and mistakes systems are falling apart and not covered/resolved.

Leaders are generally either longterm 'yes men' or people who have no idea and cant tell their a– from their elbow - Ford friends

I managed to get out at just the right time and got a decent redundancylot of people are staying afloat/waiting for a large payout.

All teams (Basildon/Brentwood) are being asked to keep records of all the work they do (hours and minutes), looks like we are heading into a finely chopped workforce as more-and-more jobs are moved across to India/Bangkok - using time as a justification - many good people have been sacrificed/made redundant at the expense of less experienced and more incompetent staff.

The best thing is that the India transition is failing badly :-) but not being reported up-the-chain on the tech front, there are many issues with working hours, people leaving SS&C India, recruiting wrong people into wrong jobs its like a Carry On movie - you couldn't make this croc-of-sh** up.

Best thing we can all do is BS and ride this gravy train for as-long-as we can!

Been on the cards for the last year - Brentwood is an unnecessary overhead in a shrinking business. Majority of tech roles due to be offshored. Management teams retained to manage minimal headcount to meet women in tech targets, although many duplicated and overlapping roles.
Good people who actually made a positive difference have been sacrificed in favour of the ineffective old stalwarts.
The writing is on the wall for many clients, staff and offices.

40% of UK IT staff. Trying to bribe people with an offer of ~£5k over statutory redundancy to leave your job voluntarily first followed by an already decided 'consultation' if you refuse the bribe. There will be nothing left of Brentwood. Clients already jumping ship, no new projects, old technologies in breach of GDPR and FCA guidelines run into the ground with no remediation or upgrade paths. Leave ASAP, don't want to be the last one to turn the lights off on the way out (assuming anyone returns to the office).

I can't understand when people are surprised that jobs are being offshored to India and Thailand. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters to 'the company' is the bottom line, nothing more, nothing less. If you can get four people in India to do the work of one person in the UK/US and still make savings (adding to that bottomline) wouldn't you if you were in Bill's shoes..?

This plan (to offshore) has been in the pipeline for a while (how long have India/Thailand offfices existed and that you have never seen the writing on the wall)..?

Many large (especially US) companies do this all the time (farm grunt work out to cheaper workers).

Bill and Rahul have come along and accelerated that process as they need to shave the workforce down to the bare minimum (what regulation/business requires to keep the ship affloat).

Dont spend your time hating or disliking Bill & Co, use the time you have left to skill-up, polish your CV/linkedin and move onto bigger and better things.

Redundancies being planned in the UK complaints teams! They are planning on offshoring to India and the process is underway but as always it's going on behind peoples backs and they won't tell those affected until the very last minute. Disgusting the way they treat people!

Lots of UK layoffs pending. Some are happening now in the UK and in the US. Not surprising from this under handed company.

HR are stopping people discussing them outside of their own Manager. Most of Scotland now on consultation, Essex have multiple people under threat. July will see a lot of changes.
