Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Two days jobless numbers.

Payrolls increase in June and stock market gains. What will happen when the true number of Macy’s layoffs becomes public? I’m not political, but this truly hurts, because I can’t explain to my family why I no longer have a job through no fault of my own. Makes me sick that the current WH administration is taking credit for miraculous jobs gained in June. They don’t know the information they are giving is due to lies by omission. Thank you worthless Media.

I agree with you how when you consider the reason we are in this mess is due to incompetence in the WH. I can remember SARs and Ebola, we did not shut the country down. It was sickening to watch the LIES of SPIN that so many jobs were restored really. Meanwhile 12% UNEMPLOYMENT is RECESSION unemployment. Most of us, like you, know it's lies out of the WH. Considering when things don't even get read. LOL

Too funny, cannot control your political leanings... "I'm not political" and next sentence blames the White House. Do your own research about numbers. Better yet, move on as most of us have done.

What !? We all know the media spreads propaganda- spoon feeding the people what they want you to believe. It has been shown they lie. Every day there are “news stories” that are not true, video manipulated etc.
Move on and get over it.

I don't think the media is hiding the real number – it was a big story about the 3,900 cuts, imagine how HUGE the story would be if they knew it was 30,000!

Macy's is trying to hide them.

And the WH is a bunch of lying liars and most news reports about the unemployment numbers took them with a grain of salt cause no one believes anything this administration has to say. The same thing happened last month – they bragged about the low unemployment rate and then a few days later everyone realized it was bullsh*t.

Right. I’ve explained all that. But now media reports a hearty returning economy, specifically in retail , and how jobs are roaring back. The truth has been reported to the media, but media has their agenda. It’s political IMO. I don’t like the economy being manipulated by lies . 3900 jobs lost? Try multiplying that by 10 . Truthfully, I’m glad to no longer be a part of the Macy’s implosion. Saw it coming years ago. Just thought I would make it to February 2021 layoffs and further restructure - cost cutting.

Really? You can’t explain that a retail company that has fallen into the abyss of loss is cutting every penny where it can in order to attempt to survive and you were one of thousands that were cut from a job. No reflection on you at all. You probably were a good associate and worked hard.
Get up. Dust yourself off. Go out there and sell your talents and skills to another company that will treat you better!!

One of the problems: fast fashion
The apparel and footwear industries together accounted for more than 8 percent of global climate impacts – the equivalent of 3,990 million metric tons of carbon dioxide in 2016, according to a report from Quantis.Apr 19, 2019
