I started in jan. Full time. Was never told their contract was up for renewal, or subject to change. I worked the whole pandemic, i covered not only mine but another persons territory. I spent all my savings in car repairs to ensure continuity only forvthem to cut my hours and put me on another team. Meanwhile im watching another guy come do my job with better equiptment. That shows they have absolutely no clue whats going on in these stores. They are just throwing money away.. Perhaps taking better care of those of us that put ourselves on the front lines.

DO NOT WORK FOR ACOSTA
Management is the worst I’ve ever seen. They lie to clients and take no blame for anything, this company ruins lives. If you question them they will fire you.
Here is your WARNING: STAY away from Acosta!
The good old conference call routine.
I worked for Acosta 9.5 years. I was on a conference call with 85 others that ended my job. Yeah- they really show they appreciate your hard work and dedication- NOT! I would never return to work there. I left many peers whom I care about, and I wish them luck, but I prefer a company who actually cares about their employees! Stay away!

Try to set up a ' go fund me' account, explaining what happened to you. You may get some donations to assist you.
Up from the immediate supervisor, HR, and on up to company president. You can also contact your local news station, newspaper, report it.
I think an employer laying someone off, and not even telling them when they did the way that happened to you must be illegal. Totally rediculous. Someone totally dropped the ball or if not, this is seriously bad fair labor standard act violation in my opinion. If there was any paid vacation sick time accrued, normally with notification of being laid off and no other position to offer you, you should have at least been able to use it until depleted, and only then removed from payroll. 'Paid Leave' is like money. But of course, this is with Acosta Sales and Marketing. What happened to you is horrible. Report them.
I left a full time job at Walmart to come back to work for Acosta and July 10 they laid me off and didn't even tell me about it until I started calling HR asking why I haven't been transferred from the purple team to impact team after days of calling HR , they told me my position was deleted and they don't have a position to transfer me to, and i filed unemployment and I'm still waiting for money from unemployment. How long does it take to get paid through unemployment. rent is coming up and I have no idea what to do, How can they just do that to people. I am looking for work but I have no money because this company cant seem to get it together.
It does not matter how long anyone has worked for Acosta. 1 day, week, 8, 20 or even 30 years. They knew they were losing a client at the beginning of the pandemic the purple team represented. No doubt at all. They did not tell the purple team. They stated a provisional job security policy and time off incentive to the team if anyone caught Covid, basically encouraging them to keep working full time during the pandemic. They gave the purple team a $30.00 stipend to buy hand sanitizer and gloves, but said they may want to see receipts. By that time purple team members had already purchased all that out of their own pocket, if it could be found, in order to be safe while working. It cost more than $30.00. They told the team not to wear gloves though, in case the stores did not let their own employees wear them because it might cause friction. So the purple team went to work and are first line essential workers. A month or so later they received in the mail a surprise box of loose gloves and 1 disposable mask from Acosta. But then the purple team got another surprise about 4 months later. The pandemic is still raging. Their work hours were being changed from full time to part time. The part time hours were more like 24-28 hours and they would be getting a call later to tell them more about it. They get the call and the team is suddenly split up and put in a bunch of other teams, most with totally different routes with more stores to cover and even more outlandish mileage than the norm. Take it or leave it. The Covid incentive went poof. Their health and life insurance went poof. The purple team's jerk of a supervisor went poof too. So goes this one of a zillion sagas of what you can expect while working for this ....what should we call it? There are million horrendous nouns and adjectives. They even lay your life on the line, and still spit you out. But people need to work, so they just played gotcha.
The company is a piece of S—. I worked 8 years for them and top sales person is the US for our brand and got a .25 cent raise. The management is corrupt! Especially on the Purple team. A bunch of alcoholics that sit home and brow beat their employees. Utterly disgusting! Stay clear of this company
Two facts about Acosta:
- No Security
- They pay the quality employees the same as the non quality employees(extremely unfair).
I left a job I had to go work for Acosta. More hours of work. I worked for Acosta a week then they laid me off. Said job was eliminated.
After 10+ yrs they gave me a territory that was even farther then before. They don't pay enough in mileage to cover repairs or upkeep to my car and then ask me to travel over 100 miles out of my area! I'm gone....
Give warning? You live in fantasyland!
With Acosta, the day you work is the only one you can count on.
I hear you. My job got eliminated also. I was offered to work on another team requiring every Saturday and full time to part time. I chose to leave the company. No warning, no information on the new job offer and 24 hours to decide. The job they offered me was one that has been listed for 4 months. I'm just done.
