Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Those on the inside

Non Allstate employee here...but a customer with Allstate. The only thing that I know is that I pay a lot for insurance but have never had a claim so I don’t know what the service is like when they need to pay out money. If we are getting ripped off please share your info from the inside with everyone that you know. You have spoken to the customers and heard their complaints. I see things said on these threads like outsourcing. What exactly is being outsourced? Are you saying that I speak to India when I file a claim??. You have seen what happens from the inside...Once you leave, please help us customers as we rarely get to know where our dollars go and what the company does from the inside....
Thank you from a very concerned customer.

Move along buddy...

You've jumped into a thread of people getting fired. They'll tell you anything to hurt the company that is hurting them.

If you are doing a Photo Claim, there is a 95% chance that an Indian, with really no prior experience in going to a body shop or even have owned a car before will write your initial estimate in the middle of the night in our time zone. Luckily, Allstate does not have you speak with them. No need to worry, just take that estimate to your body shop, and they will contact the experienced adjusters here in the US to handle the supplemental items that are needed to complete the repairs.

If you are having your estimate done by Virtual Assist, which is the "live" Facetime-like way of inspecting your vehicle, you will be getting an American that will write your initial estimate. Then take that estimate to the shop and they will contact us on the additional items needed to complete your repairs.

Hope that helps.

My coworkers and I all work very hard and in my group there isn’t anyone who is a slacker or who doesn’t take their job seriously.... it’s hard to see who any of us could be picked to leave or stay over the other ...it’s quite frightening to be in this position at the moment

Current employee in claims. No your calls aren’t being routed to India lol. Some Total Loss stuff is in India but just that for now I hope. We did have vendors for filing new claims but I believe they were here in the states and think we stopped or going to stop using their services. For the most part the claims process is smooth and unless it’s a unique claim then you might be playing phone tag with your claim handler if you have one assigned. You can get an initial payment and estimate quickly through the quick foto claim option on the app or take to a shop that works directly with us for repairs.

Employees that I have worked with in claims are great people. Hard working and care about the customers! Is there favoritism? Absolutely! I blame that on management!

managers in my old office would drink on their shift. They would go to Beebs, a bar/burger place in Livermore.

in my old office, the claims adjusters would get drunk/hammered on the job and then post it on social media. These people would handle your claims. This is what you are paying for. Most of them still work for the company.

I have had friends complain about Allstate because they don’t pay claims or pay very little. When you are overpaying for a product the least they can do is provide the coverage. As for what is in India and what is going to India, all the I.T. And some customer service is in India. From a regulatory standpoint some things may need to be stateside. Almost none of the employees I have worked with actually have Allstate insurance. Even with an employee discount it is still grossly overpriced.

Yes, you are. And we are to tell you it’s fair and be happy about it. Just like we were told about how great transformative growth is and we should smile and be happy about it when we lose our jobs.
