Aria won’t reflect the number. Depend on each individual and their location’s laws, some have to be given advanced notice - these are on leave.
And despite all the saying “headcount frozen”, there are people in LinkedIn annoying they have joined oracle this week. There is also an increase of 100 in aria over this last week while our APAC colleagues are let off.
The full impact will never be seen at Aria, but as entire teams are being let off, be ready there bound to be short term support issues.
Not a chance... useless HR flunkies are always the last to go. Meanwhile, will be interesting to get an Aria count on 1-AUG. Guaranteed it will be down from where it is today, but bear in mind, the ~39,000 will likely happen at a drip-rate of a few thousand/month...

Validated from another source that the ~30%/39,000 rumored RIF target, cited below, is accurate. Also, new consolidated WW Marketing team under AK will suffer 37% reduction.
100+ were RIF'd from Oracle University July 1. There is now only one person supporting any non-Cloud product training. (The only person who knew how the antiquated catalogue system worked is gone.) They're retiring all but the (mostly older) pre-recorded training videos for non-Cloud products - no live training, no online live webinars. Never mind that something like 85% of Oracle customers are on either non-Cloud or hybrid systems.

Reviving this with an update: The original 22,000 RIF target starting in March still holds – and O is steadily chipping away at it, month by month, as described in other threads here. However, as of this week, the target has now been expanded to a 30% reduction in force, which would imply ~39,000 jobs. All new hire and internal transfer headcount is on indefinite hold, including those requisitions already in workflow. This will not be an enjoyable work environment, moving forward, for the remainder of the year - at best. I wish everyone the best in these highly challenging and unpleasant times.
I can confirm that "new-hire/transfer workflow reqs in MH's approval queue were put on indefinite hold" is also true for Europe. I'm aware of a couple of cases in the Tech space.
I know at least 2 confirmed layoffs from last week who are still in Aria today. From one of them, they are getting paid for July before severance.
I’ve been tracking in aria for the last few months. In January the count was 136,598 and today the count is 134,954. Only a minor difference. Seriously doubt this 22,000 number is remotely true.
Does anyone know how many of the 22,000 have already been RIF's since March? My recollection of the total employee headcount in Aria back in March was ~6,000 higher than now, which if true, would imply there's another ~16,000 RIFs being planned through September. They're spreading it in a drip, drip, drip fashion to avoid scrutiny and disclosure requirements.

The layoff was 7/1...Relax, the HR team took their 4th holiday break a tad bit early so there was no time to get all this paperwork sent out. It was a lot of work to bring this mass layoff to fruition and they needed an early holiday break...That's how HR people work. You'll get your termination/severance paperwork by the 15th.

I think OP is an OCI architect who is hoping they will be able to lay off 22,000 and clean house. I think this is wishful thinking that will probably not materialize.
You will find it’s impossible to clean house at Oracle. You may think you are doing that but beware the management that will band together and lie about the people you should be keeping so the wrong people get laid off and you end up with a huge pile of clueless lying scumbags who are incompetent in the extreme.
The only way to make sure you are getting rid of the right people at a technical level is to test the technical people.
But then again you would have to monitor the testing to make sure that the people taking the test are the actual people who they claim to be. I would not put it past the management to hire people to take tests for their s— ups and not tell the people they are afraid of that there are any tests.
Don’t underestimate the underhandedness of most of the Oracle management. They will lie together to an extent that would be unbelievable to me if I had not lived through a lot of that.
If it’s really 22,000 I would expect WARN notices to go out in some areas. Has anyone seen anything like that?

Customer are punished through license verification audits and costly renewals.
Interesting to read that many IT departments still look at Oracle as SW provider... I would clearly make myself independent from them and install alternatives.
But that is an other discussion ;-)
