Engineered Exit

All experts here. I have 7 years with HON and in my late 40's (sps). I want to engineer my exit and maximize $ package. can you all tell me what i could stand to get $:
Invol RIF: 3 months salary etc etc?
Vol RIF: lower than 3 months

is 3 months really offered or is it 1 week per year worked...
thanks

I just got riffed, and was told by HR that I couldn’t contract until 6 months after my last severance check is issued.

Do not neglect your long term play. Make sure there is something only you can do. Never give away the keys. I am already seeing people who retired in jan right before RIF being called back to save the day. RIF prevents you from contracting back only during severance. After that top dollar by the hour to fix the stuff. Stick it to them...it is the honeywell way.

It’s not really negotiable. Min 4 weeks, then 1 week afterwards for each year of service no matter if voluntary or involuntary. They will not negotiate, have too many to process right now

For most it Is 1 week per year, minimum of 4 and max of 26.

For this current RIF we were paid over a week extra. I was RIFed on June 25 and July 3 was last official day even tho I was sent home, so to speak, on the 25th. Severance begins Week of July 6.

There are different rules for unions and California.

Bear you can hope for is to get out with your dignity and soul. Severance is not really worth holding out for. If they valued you they would be offering a retention bonus.

Suggest you read the severance policy that's on the HR site. Should provide the information you need. Good luck.
