Thread regarding Pembina Pipeline Corp layoffs

Direction

Seems like we don't know what we are doing. We stopped major projects, we got some people go. We thought that project controls are not doing right things, we thought that IT is not doing the right thing. So we gave some power to finance. Now we are thinking to change that again. Do we really think about efficiencies here? Or is it that if somebody pretends that he/she spends a lot of hours being online then we consider that as hard and efficient work? Can we get some competent people in our company or are we still going to bring "who we know" but they don't know much... Can we understand that incompetency slows down the company's performance?

Cronyism and nepotism runs rampant throughout the organization. No one can deny or challenge that. The slow internal bleed at Pembina can be traced back to an unethical culture and business practices. Human Resources fully supports it all and are some of the worst offenders. Watch your back!

The most corrupt dept is HR. Not sure what's happening with them, either they take gifts or something under the table or not sure. Hiring practices are horrible. Conflict of interests is not observed. You see who gets hired and then it makes you wonder - how??. "It's not what you know, it's who you know".

The problem starts with the top. There is only one VP who knows how projects work from inception to completion. It is sad to say, but the rest are completely useless. They have no clue how to run projects and are more concerned about the size of their bonus over what the project needs are. To those who are stuck behind, sorry, you have been screwed. To those Millennials left behind, get used to working hard, we know you haven't been trained to learned that hard work pays off. Honestly, at this point, if Pembina continues down this path, they will be bought out by a better/bigger company or they will crash and become bankrupt. The only option for success is to become an operating company only. Stay away from new ventures, you have proven that you cannot handle it.
