Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Payroll error in my favor

Noticed that I am getting a couple dollars more an hour than I am owed. Not going to mention it to upper management. They can s— it.

I don't know about other states but I'm California you don't need to pay Hertz back.if you get overpaid they can ask for the money back and if you say no Hertz would need to take you to court

About two years ago now I think...hertz paid every employee in our location a huge extra check. We sorta all kept quiet at first And then I began to ask one person and they laughed after I asked if they were paid more than expected. They laughed and said yes but don’t say anything. Of course I didn’t. I few days went by and I asked the supervisor if we were all paid extra, he laughed and said shusssh. He got laid more too for no reason and to not say anything. We all kept quiet. We all got extra money. Nothing more was done. Hertz is stupid.

Also, I might add, at the end of the year if you didn’t use sick time, the handbook says the employee should be paid 1-1/2 times of their rate. Well, for the last three years, I was paid full and I used some sick time. What id–ts.

Corporations do this because it benefits the company financials; it is mitigating some current or future SG&A liability risk.

On the other hand, if it's a simple error, they will come after you to repay the funds – and if you don't, they will withhold the funds from a future payment - bonus, layoff settlement, etc.

Could it be Hazard Pay that HR failed to mention?
