Where have you been for the past five years? Did you have your head firmly stuck in the sand all this time? Layoffs are NEVER over at Honeywell. They might alternate between major ones that garner some media attention and smaller ones that mostly go unnoticed by everybody but the employees, but they never stop. Get used to it or leave.

Torrance more to layoff this week
Back in the mid 80's I read a piece that said companies were moving to a system where the average tenure would be about three years, and jobs would be contract, not permanent. This article was very enthusiastic about this idea, saying it would invigorate workers since the excitement of new work and new experiences would increase job satisfaction. It also said the as soon as you would get a job you would need to start training for your next job in three years or get left behind. This author was convinced that workers would be enthused by the idea of continual learning and new job experiences.
I was convinced that workers would be enthused by the continual need to find a new job, as well as the continual risk of losing ones family, house, and livlihood. It looks like we are pretty close to the authors dream....
True the less they pay them the greater asset they are.
OP is correct. The ebb and flow dictates that HON will always be laying off and then hiring cheap labor to replace. The employees are Honeywell's greatest asset. L O L
Less countries open up borders to allow visitors in without conditions, the threat of possible unemployment will always remain. Its just business
