My guess is SN decided against permanent layoffs. If it was happening, it would've happened by now. Quit freaking out.

Eventually, those on furlough will need money and have to find other employment. The company won't need to do layoffs because the situation will play out to its advantage. Please do not wait to find other options. Remember, benefits were reduced at the beginning of the year (vacation, 401K contributions) and there was no mention of potential raises. Additionally, there was a constant underlying fear of layoffs happening. This type of company is interested in making money for the major shareholders. They will find the cheapest way to provide labor as to save on costs. Those still on furlough are replaceable and likely at a better price. Newer employees can be brought in eventually at a lower starting wage and with less benefits than those with any established history. Good Luck.
We're furloughed... there's no need to lay us off..... Check back March 2021...
Ummmm..... they've already filled my position.... is it safe to assume they are not bringing me back? I would think so.
