Its not fair, but it is what it is. The world is not fair and neither is Verizon. They will say that jobs were offered and that is it. For those in retail getting closed they stated severance "may" be offered. That means that they might nit even give you a severance. From their standpoint they are offering a job. Yes it might be completely different and a pay cut of $10k, $20k etc. but hey we offered them a job. That is what Verizon wants. Its just a PR move and a way to cut cost.

@ the person who said it is fair, that is total bullsh!t because when the other 6 plus call centers closed 2 years ago they were offered WFH, relocation, severance!

store closes = job elimination= several options wfh, relocate, work in another store, severance.
Call center closes = job elimination= no option except wfh. No other centers to go to, no offer or option to relocate, no severance. This is not equal opportunity.

@7mkx+15SEqnNm They should from a legal standpoint. They are closing stores and offering employees at all those closed stores several options such as wfh customer service or telesales, relocation options , going to another store or severance. Call center reps have not been offered any of those options except they will be permanently working from home period. How is that fair? Deceptive and unequal employment opportunity.
I hope they offer them to call takers

Not gonna happen. We had/will have a lot of people leaving due to the commission changes. So they don’t need to offer packages when they have people leaving willing
