You have a perfect opportunity to search for a new job while being furloughed and collecting unemployment. You have a chance to find a way to be rid of this place for good! Why waste it by doing nothing but waiting to - MAYBE - return to work at a place you hate???

Anyone who goes back encourages the same abuses that we have become accustomed to within the company's culture. It is like watching someone in an abusive relationship keep taking it because they hope it will somehow get better. I feel bad for the returning employees and hope they will find the courage and ability to walk away from a company that has no actual respect for them
It is always best to take advantage of being home to better yourself. So you get called back then you just keep worrying about being layed off or the park closing again. I believe they are afraid to start something new out of their comfort zone. Look we all know that the old SW is never coming back and for that we should all mourn and get on with our lives. If you have poured your heart, soul and time into this company and think you deserve to be there, I am sure the people who have been layed off over the past 10 years have also felt the same way. Some being there 20-30 +years. The company will never see you as an asset, you are just a body to fill a position. I was actually told that by a supervisor which is why I left after 11 years of sacrificing holidays, special occasions, family time and abusive guests. I am finally free. 🙏
Just curious... how do you know people are not already doing so...?
OP. Do your thing. No need to tell other people what they should do.
Sunk cost fallacy in a nutshell.
Best course of action is to aggressively hit the job market. If you’re still furloughed, you’re not coming back.
Maybe because they really liked working there, and they feel like they deserve to be there. What’s it to you, why do you care so much about what they want. Yes, this is definitely a reason to go search for a better, honest, higher paying job. What if they poured their lives into this place and just feel like they deserve more than to just be left out there without knowing. It’s everyone’s right to do what they want. If they wanna wait then let them be. Stop being a d__che about it and go on about your business.
I agree, the only reason why I could imagine someone wouldn't is because they had a cushy position where they were paid more than they would be elsewhere for the same work, or they had a very seaworld specific job that they could not find elsewhere.
People seem pretty triggered by the original post, so maybe it hit too close to home.
God forbid somebody be proactive and just leave. Not sure people are so offended by that.
Yea worry about yourself, you f—ing twat. You have a perfect opportunity to throw yourself off the Sky Tower.
Why does it matter to you what someone else is doing? Have you been called back? Or have you found employment elsewhere?
