He did a really good job and is a good person. Why was Bryn fired? He is the first of many execs who will be fired now that Stage is bankrupt and closed. Get ready for lots of ex-Stage and ex-JC Penny execs to come here. Hope they dont do to Academy what they did to JC Penny and Stage; which is made them go bankruptt.

This post is spot on, Academy has really turned to trash with the geniuses from Stage Stores and Pennys at the helm. It’s truly sad, Steven Laurence is out of touch and a coward surrounding himself with other id–ts from what was Stage stores. Another one to look at is gorvid I think he replaced Wetsfal.
Is this a joke? Bryn was horrible! Just another “yes” man who couldn’t stand up for his own planning organization. At least Govind came in and took some action. Everyone coming from all the failed companies will just keep bringing academy down but no one cares bc they just went IPO so execs can cash out in 6 months.
Easy to understand why we are hiring people from all the failed companies (JC Penney, Stage, Franchesca). The people all worked for the CMO Laurence at those companies where they all failed. Now the people are coming here.
Every time we hire someone from JCP or some other failed retailer I just have to scratch my head as to why? They are part of the leadership that drove those companies in to the ground and you think they wont ( unintentionally) do the same thing here?
Didnt Govin come from Franchesca and JC Penny? Those companies are terrible. Why would ASO hire someone for an important job who did bad at 2 terrible companies?
Those customers aren't coming back, especially with the way things are now.
Yes! He was an absolute genius... completely restructure Merchandise Planning/Allocation, put people in charge of areas and processes they are fully out of touch with and then have to backpedal less than a year later and bring said positions back. That's what you get when hire a "leader" from another failed company..not to mentioned he was another fantastic hire by MG and JK. We need to get back to basics and focus on the customers that made us successful in the first place.
Someone they can pay less.
Govin? Another rockstar from hugely successful companies
