Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Stock on a Slide

Carlos Rodriquez's leadership has driven this stock down. The "Transformation" initiatives have completely gutted the company of effective people. All that is left is devastated employees and clients. Sell while you can!

Regardless, he needs to be fired. Enough damage has been done. And while he walks away a rich man, like the former wife-beater CEO, it makes no sense continuing to reward terrible performance and lasting damage to the company. He needs to go!

Astonishingly poor decisions have been made by Carlos, putting ADP into a tailspin. That said, Carlos cannot really be held accountable because even if he is fired right now, he walks away a rich man. No real accountability in my opinion.

The stock performance warrants a replacement of the CEO. It does not matter the reason for the decline. It certainly did not matter replacing thousands of employees for no action of their own. It is time for a new CEO. The CEO gets rewarded when the stock goes up due to his actions or not. When the stock declines as it has, he needs to be held accountable, especially when a large part of the decline is due to his bad decisions.

Stock is down again today over $1.50, and while that is not like past two days it is still early in the day. And before someone bemoans that you can't look at just a couple days... look at the return from the start of the year or even over the past full year. The returns are terrible. Down over 22% over the past year alone. Time for Carlos to go. His plan has resulted in both massive talent loss and brain but also in angry clients and poor stock performance. Time for Carlos to go.

Well, what say you? All I know is that ADP stock was down almost $10 yesterday and close to $5 today. It is off the high of $182 down to now $132. And that did not happen in one day. So, unless if all the market analysts are all wrong and you are right (highly unlikely) then ADP is s—ing wind... and that is on CEO! He needs to go! Bill Ackman would have been 10x better for ADP.

Actually, ADP stock dropped over the last month period. You can't look at it over a day's period whether it goes up or down to mean anything. Still, if you look at ADP's long term stock price, you can't say that it is either doing great or in big trouble. It is generally holding steady, dropping some but nothing critical.

So I don't think that people should be analyzing that ADP is going down or is doing great just on how the stock price is doing on any particular day. Also, the health of a company is not determined by the stock performance alone.

I also don't think that you can just discount the posters that say anything negative about ADP on other threads simply because one may not like what they say.

So just grab a bag of popcorn and a can of soda and watch what happens to ADP long term. We don't know how this show is going to end, but where's the fun of watching if you already know the outcome?

no one mentioned ADP stock going up yesterday at 2x the % the market went up. You know why? It doesn't matter day to day any more than the stock going down 2x the market on any given day. These posts are just misleading like so much else on this site. Makes for good entertainment though.

Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean they are a troll. I am far from it. Instead, I am familiar with ADP having worked there a long time. ADP stock was vastly overpriced, in my opinion. Poor management and gutting the experienced employee pool would only make it worse. ADP stock used to trade in the $40 - $80 range. Generally, it would split when it got over $70 and was approaching $80. I know a lot of this changed when they left the NYSE and moved to NASDAQ, so I cannot explain it, but simply know history. Believing a stock correction is normal does not make me a troll..

DOW soars 500 points and ADP stock is down. Investors not impressed with the outlook. Time to cut more expenses and labor to keep the fire from getting worse.

Yep. You are spot on! Carlos's plan has really hurt ADP severely. And before the ADP trolls try to say otherwise and it is the market, yada yada yada, just look at the trends - Market goes up significantly and ADP still goes down. Look at the money flowing out of ADP and most big funds are very negative on ADP. The management totally messed up with their terrible plan and the cracks are now widening and it is only getting worse. I am so out of the train wreck of this company and stock! Good riddance!

I do agree his leadership is bad. Bad decisions and poor judgement on what is effective for clients and employees. The stock is down again over $2.50 again this morning.
