Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Traffic

Hearing that the southern region is pretty much dead, everything is running out west and up north so people in those regions what’s it looking like there? Also just a guess here but going to go out on a limb here and say it’s going to possibly be dead till harvest time. So when do you think the next big cost saving measure will be happening?

On the northern region at least North Platte to Chicago area we're being told everything is running on the southern routes. Everyone just makes stuff up

Actually it is because they can treat you like garbage and they know you'll take it because of the lack of other job opportunities. In the other areas people leave the RR for employers that pay the same and treat you like a human being.

It maybe ignorant but there’s a reason companies come to the Midwest states for labor. They are almost guaranteed hardworking people that aren’t going lay down on them.

Yankees rule we”ll move the traffic on the overland route! We get r done. If the company was smart they would only send east west traffic on the Overland route.

Cold weather never stopped them from hauling up north. They go where the business is.

With good weather and no cars to pull it is about shortest possible route. If it was -30 up north traffic would go south. Right now they aren't needing the sidings to park trains out of the way of the monster trains so alot of auto racks are parked on them. Also haven't seen much parked on main 2 into north platte like three months ago.

That’s about the most ignorant thing I’ve ever heard.

We have a brand new RR up north. Double triple mainline on the overland route. Only makes sense to move trains up north plus all of us guys up north.

I heard Roseville, and West Colton getting shut down end of July. Their trying to cut MOW and get all contractors. That’s about it.
