Layoffs Will Startup Again 06/2020

UHG started layoffs back up again. Optum RX had over 200 employees laid off 5/27/2020 and now UHC will have more layoffs 06/2020. The company mole mentioned 06/04 Wednesday. I can’t believe DOL hasn’t gotten involved with this. Lawsuit really should be filed. Karma

I was laaid off from Optum360 on 6.3.20 position is being sent off shore to the Philippines.

I was at the "repositioning" meeting and it was very sad and I can sense Mrs. Kinn was visibly upset and I applaud her for showing emotions, but then I maybe misinterpreting. I know I was sad to hear the layoffs and worried of course for my position.

It seems very disingenuous they they say, our department is at a great place financially then the next sentences is "we had to make some hard choices within our department". It's almost like lifting you up then kicking you in the knees. But I get they are trained professionals in speaking to your lower levels.....First start with the positives and then fit in the negatives quickly...

Anyway, the point is this is a profitable public company and they can do whatever they want as long as it's legal and the shareholders are happy.

For me personally with all the different and complicated matrices they have, I know I can be next just as the rest of current staff.

I think this forum is nice because we are all current or former employees and this is an outlet for us to vent and or get insight from the "mole", whomever the "mole" is....as I have been reading current posts on a regular basis just to get a pulse on what's going on, they are on it.!

I'm sorry for the people who was in the last round of (bigger one than the one in December) hit list. You must admit, you have learned a great deal working for this company and be grateful for that.

UHG segment OPAS formerly EHR Client Service Model post layoffs : Client value $200,000.00, come see me a couple of times a year please. >$400,000.00 or $500,000.00 client value=periodic onsite visitation by a client manager. Now my question is-who enables UHG’s astronomical profit margins? I always thought it was clients.

They began massive layoffs on Wednesday, 6/4/20. Rumor is that it was the largest lay-off in the organization’s history.

Spectacular lay-off plan, kept the oldest person in each segment regardless of salary. Preventing age discrimination lawsuits - clever. Actually provided a list of positions and the specific ages of all people laid off to those who were laid off. Did not provide names. Proceeded to lay-off personnel with highest salaries which of course equated to experience. Make your own conclusion as to what is left.

The OPAS segment (formerly EHR) will have a unique client service model post layoffs. $400,000.00, will have OPAS account representation that is supposedly going onsite periodically.

I can post here if I want and I am concerned with people effected. You are only concerned with yourself which is why you stated "someone please file a lawsuit", if you believe a lawsuit is needed, you file it.

People. Please don't believe this, instead, understand that layoffs can happen at any time. Don't be scared of it, just know that it can happen at any time and be prepared as if layoffs are being planned right now.

Have a plan or work on one. Don't wait until you hear news about "inside source in corporate HR, back office secret meeting, hired more off-shore employees, etc." I know it hard right now with Corona virus, but the sooner you plan the more prepared you will be.

All markets are heavily saturated and all types of business have an expiration date, some sooner than others unless they can sustain new innovations, technologies, and products to the market, but that costs money.....shareholders are going to be like how can you generate all time high revenue with minimal research and development cost and continue with 40%+ profit margins. CEO will weight out if X idea can generate X amount of profit to satisfy their salary and the expectations of the shareholders.

Have a plan and be prepared. As long as humans exist unfair treatment, wrongful terminations, layoff of exceptional employees, money above all else will continue. Only God can cleanse the greed and curruption of people. If your anxious and scared, pray to God. Ask God to take the fear and anxiety and convert it into ambition and hope.
