Terribly, thats how.

You will be forwarded an invite to a zoom meeting from a 3rd party outplacement firm pembina hired. it will have an obvious title like "Employment Discussion". You will get this invite a min or two after the meetings scheduled start time. Once you join, you'll be greeted with the webcams of your supervisor, 3 levels of management above you, and someone from HR. Your supervisor will ask you turn on your webcam because "this will be more personal with it on". They really didn't want to take no for an answer. Once your webcam is on, the meeting organizer will mute your mic so you cannot ask questions. The highest ranking person will read a script of a few sentences. They will ask if you have any questions, but your mic will be muted. They will then say, great and you will be removed from the zoom meeting. The whole process takes about 1-2 minutes. The worst part is you can tell they get used to it. When i joined they were making small talk like before a typical meeting. I swear the first words i heard were "that last one was hard. oh she's here..." when I joined.

Immediately after you're kicked out, you get another zoom invite. This will be the 3rd party outplacement firm and HR. HR asked me to turn on my webcam again, but the 3rd party firm said its fine not to. The 3rd party firm will then read a canned statement about how this is an opportunity. HR will then read you a statement telling you your employment is terminated immediately. They will tell you to cease using your company equipment and box it up to be ready for pickup by a courier within 2 hours. Within 2 minutes you will lose all access to everything on your laptop.
